Behind the scenes of a Passive House build, Weathertex battens and design trends, and a little TV spot for 35 South!
Architect Sarah Fiess continues to share such great content from behind-the-scenes of her new Passive House build including some useful wall and roof details. She’s also recently appeared as a guest on the Building Sciology podcast. Well worth a follow/listen if you’re building or designing a high performance home.
Weathertex have released new structural ventilation battens which can be used with their vertical wall cladding as a horizontal batten. And the Weathertex Design Trends Magazine 2025 is out now and available electronically or in hard copy.
Ben Walsham from ARKATA has published a useful blog post on navigating alterations and additions under NCC 2022 in South Australia.
It doesn’t happen often, but a 35South Building Co project is on the market. Studio 35 is for sale and was featured on the 7NewsAdelaide Selling SA segment. Such a good behind the scenes peek at the care, craftmanship and intention that the 35 South guys bring to their work.
And to finish, some design inspiration…
I loved this beautiful renovation of a 1980s project home featured on Lunchbox Architect - Louvres, Timber & Sea Breezes: A Nostalgic Nod to the Past
Marine House featured on Lunchbox Architect Another beautiful renovation featured on Simple Dwelling which really highlights how beautiful and functional small spaces can be with thoughtful design.
Finally, I’ve decided that fortnightly feels like a more achievable cadence for publishing these reflections so we’ll try that going forward!
thanks Clare - love these updates
